Watersports Activities in Whitby
North Yorkshire is home to an abundance of outdoor education providers, offering the chance to try fun and exciting activities during a holiday by the coast. Here we list just some of our favourite watersports activities in Whitby. Surfing, sailing and white water rafting are all on offer just a short drive from Whitby Holiday Park.
Whitby Walk with Heritage Trail
When you walk around Whitby you will see several sculptures dotted around the town. These sculptures have been inspired by Whitby’s rich and historic fishing heritage.
The trail features nine unique life size sculptures which were created by a local sculptor Emma Stothard.
Fossil Hunting in Saltwick Bay
The beautiful beach of Saltwick Bay is a treasure trove for ancient fossils waiting to be discovered.
Whitby to Robin Hood’s Bay Walk
One of the beautiful sections of the Cleveland Way walk is accessible directly from our park so you don’t need to worry about travelling to your starting point.
Grosmont and Beck Hole Circular Walk
There are so many beautiful local walks and also walks a little further out from Whitby. This is the first one we are going to share with you which is Grosmont and Beck Hole circular walk.
The Cleveland Way National Trail
Part of the Cleveland Way walk goes directly through Whitby Holiday Park so we are a brilliant base for your walking adventures. From our park you can directly access Whitby in one direction or Robin Hood’s Bay in the other direction. Both are extremely scenic and very enjoyable. The distance to Whitby along the path from the park is just one mile, and the distance to Robin Hood’s Bay from the park is about six and a half miles.

The ever popular Whitby 60’s Festival is back this year after a 2 year delay! Get ready to Rock ‘n’ Roll, Twist & Shout and shimmy the night away with live music all weekend.

Whitby Historical Experience 27th - 29th August 2022
Get taken back through the ages and experience the conflicts and sacrifices of war. Featuring re-enactments portraying the clashing swords of the Vikings, the musket shots and bugles of the American Civil War, the political issues of the Spanish Civil War, WW2 which was one of the largest and bloodiest battles in human history and finally culminating with the Vietnam War.
Whitby Traction Engine Rally
This spectacular traction engine rally is held next to the iconic ruins of Whitby Abbey and is only a 5 minute walk from Whitby Holiday Park.
