Things To Do With Teenagers in Whitby

Whitby is a seaside town packed with historic significance. With so many weird and wonderful things going on, there’s plenty to keep young adults entertained. Here is our top pick of just some of our favourite things to do with teenagers during your stay at our family friendly holiday park.

Eskape Whitby

Do your teenagers love puzzles, adrenaline rushes, trouble solving and mystery? If so, why not try out ‘Eskape Whitby’. Family and friends can turn into sleuths as you solve the puzzles in the mystery rooms. Unlike other escape rooms in other parts of the country, Eskape Whitby’s rooms are all themed around local history, myths, and legends creating a totally unique escape room experience. Put your brain, and nerves, to the test and book your tickets to Eskape Whitby online.

The Black Pearl

For those teenagers who love all things shiny, we recommend visiting The Black Pearl. Located in old Whitby town, The Black Pearl Jet jewellery shop sells handmade necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, all inspired by the gothic nature of this little Yorkshire town.

The Black Pearl has been a family-run business for over thirty years and notably, all their handcrafted pieces are created using sterling silver and natural rocks and minerals. Visit the shop and watch the masters at work creating the distinctive pieces of jewellery, which gave them their gleaming reputation.

 Rewilding Adventure

If you have a teenager who loves to live on the wild side, we suggest booking a session, with Rewilding Adventure. Rewilding Adventure has plenty of exciting activities on offer and is only a thirty-minute drive from Whitby holiday park

Younger members of the family can try their hand at bushcraft, archery, air rifle shooting, axe throwing and so much more. It’s great fun and you’re guaranteed to create unforgettable memories that you’ll cherish for years to come.

Go Ape

Let your teenagers unleash their inner Bear Grylls and watch as they run free at Go Ape. Nestled way in the 8,000 acres of breath-taking woodland, known as Dalby Forest, Go Ape has been described as an ‘adventurer’s paradise’. The tree top adventure park has plenty of high rope challenges, zip lines and the opportunity to go flying through the forest on a Segway.

Go Ape also has experiences for younger children too, including owl carvings, mystical forts, and a Gruffalo Orienteering route. We recommend Go Ape as a brilliant experience that the whole family can enjoy.

The Dracula Experience

The Dracula Experience is brilliant for fans of vampires and excitement alike. Described by The Daily Mail as being, “An eerie, spine-chilling show”, the short attraction features actors, animation, and special effects to tell the story of Dracula arriving in Whitby. Tickets cost £5 per adult, and £4 per child, making The Dracula Experience a budget-friendly activity for families.  This experience is full of jump scares and laughs, making it the perfect attraction that teenagers will love when visiting Whitby town.

Flamingo Land Theme Park

Flamingo Land Theme Park offers plenty of experiences for teenagers. Thrill-seekers can choose from a selection of rollercoasters, including ‘Sik’- an enormous ride with ten inversions, a 25m loop, a cobra roll, a corkscrew and five heart-line rolls!

Flamingo Land is also home to the UK’s only motorbike launch coaster, ‘Velocity’. The Velocity rollercoaster accelerates at lightning speeds, reaching 0-60mph in under three seconds! We believe that’s enough to make any desperado scream.

We completely understand that flying at high speeds isn’t for every teenager. Flamingo Land Theme Park also has an award-winning zoo, featuring animals such as lions, tigers, rhinos, wallabies, hippos, penguins, red pandas, lorikeets and so much more. Flamingo Land offers a variety of animal experiences too. Our personal favourite is the lemur experience.

Whitby Surf School
